New York, New York – January 12, 2011  –  Copia Interactive, LLC (Copia), the groundbreaking social eReading platform, today announced that it has hired Seth Kaufman as the Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising.  Kaufman will be based in Copia's New York office and will be in charge of all customer-facing initiatives including content creation, sales, promotions, as well as email and print campaigns.

Prior to joining Copia, Kaufman, 47, worked with Barnes & Noble's website (www.BN.com) for 12 years. He joined BN.com in 1998 to launch the site’s music store and served as Editorial Director of Books, Music and Video before becoming Vice President of Merchandising in 2006.

Before Barnes and Noble, Kaufman honed his Internet expertise as he helped launch TV Guide's website (www.TVGuide.com) in 1995 and became Editorial Director of that site as well.  Kaufman also worked at the New York Post as a Page Six reporter. His freelance work has appeared in the New York Times, New York Observer, New York Daily News, People, Vibe and Sassy.

"Seth brings a valuable background in media and digital content that will help us continue to promote and grow Copia’s platform," said Ben Lowinger, Executive Vice President of Copia. "Copia is the only eReading platform on the market that allows people to share their notes directly in the margins of their eReader, and we are confident that Seth’s experience and knowledge will be tremendous assets at Copia."

"The Copia platform offers something truly unique for book lovers, scholars and students alike – the ability to share and create a community around eReading," said Kaufman. "This revolutionary idea is going to change the way we read and consume digital content. Copia is undoubtedly the future of reading and I’m excited to be a part of such a visionary company."
